What did you do this past week?

This past week was pretty relaxing for me. I had a project to turn in this week, along with some homework, but nothing too big. I felt that I was able to take a mental break, and I had time to do some hobbies.

What’s in your way?

I still have a big portion of the project to do. There are some things my group and I need to learn and get used to, like Flask and SQL. But after we’re more comfortable with these, we should be able to work together and finish the project.

What will you do next week?

Next week, my group and I will work on finishing IDB2. We’ll have to plan out our time to spread out our work. Last time, we were a little rushed near the deadline. Besides IDB2, I’ll have a project to do for Symbolic Programming and some other homework.

If you read it, what did you think of The Open-Closed Principle?

I wasn’t familiar with the Open-Closed Principle before I read the reading. After reading it, I understood it a lot better. I think the reading gave very clear examples with the shape classes, and it was easy to understand how Open-Closed Principle works and why it would be beneficial to have a program that is extendable but closed to modification.

What was your experience of iterators, generators, and yield? (this question will vary, week to week)

I knew what an iterator was before taking this class, but I wasn’t very sure about yield and generators. After Professor Downing explained in class, I think the concepts were a lot more clear.

What made you happy this week?

I was happy this week because a BlackPink came out with their new album (they’re a kpop group) and I got to listen to it a lot this week. I enjoy their music, and their new album didn’t let me down.

What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?

My pick-of-the-week is a chrome extension called Posture Reminder. You can set reminders for yourself to sit straight, and I think this is very helpful since we’re online so much. Good posture is very important for productivity and health, and this extension really helps with reminding about posture.
